Travel Dilemmas? Get It Right With 'SimplyWrite'

As summer will be here before we know it, many of us are juggling end-of-school year activities, responsibilities and festivities with putting vacation plans in place.  We are coping with crunched schedules, implementing impending adventures, and by-passing budget-management for fun, family and frivolity.  This compels us to look for useful tips that can help us move swiftly between seasons and, ultimately get us to where we want to go without added stress.  Any suggestion that meets that need is “right” for us.  And I have one -- a doozy in fact.

Meet Ashleigh Wright Haslinger, founder of SimplyWright, the ultimate lifestyle and travel blog that can help solve all of your needs so that you can get out the door and on your way as quickly as your your conscience and your kids are nagging you too.  How invaluable is she in the heat of the moment?  We all know the answer to that.

One of the most relevant posts to all of our lives in which Ashleigh recently wrote for SimplyWright is Packing for a Trip Checklist, which provides great suggestions for how to minimize your packing time and space when preparing for a getaway.  Even me, the perpetual traveler, learned a few things that I have, since, applied and benefitted from.  Suffice-it-to-say, I wanted to share her smart advice and this interview featuring Ms. Ashleigh Write with all of you as both are so darn right for ‘today’ it isn’t funny.

What is your full name?

Temecula, CA

How many children do you have?

Three… 2 boys, 1 girl

If you were asked to describe yourself in one word, what would that word be?

Thoughtful

What is your personal mantra?

Carpe Diem

Tell us about you and your life.

I’m a mom to three perfectly imperfect children, a wife to a hard working Austrian, and a daughter to my wonderful mother. I’m a wanderluster, workout junkie,vacuum-oholic and someone who is passionate about blogging and building online friendships through shared interests.

My life is sometimes hectic but most of the time routine. My family and I moved home to California last year, after living abroad in Switzerland. We travel back and forth between California and Europe a couple times a year, with my husband currently working in the Netherlands. We are travel enthusiasts, food lovers, do gooders and an all around close knit family.

Finish this sentence, “The best part about being a mom is?"

Everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. All of it.

How long have you been blogging for?  Do you blog for any group blogs or websites beyond your own?

I have been blogging for 14 months and just write for my own site.

What is the name of your blog?  When was it launched?

SimplyWright, launched in December 2014.

Share with us the significance of the name of your blog to you.  How did you come up with it?

Wright is my maiden name, now my middle, and I love the play on words. As a blogger, I write and share my crafts and opinions that are right to me. So either way, the Wright in SimplyWright can be interpreted in many ways.

What is the primary focus of your blog?

I share pretty much all aspects of my life. From travel, recipes/crafts and parenting, to hardships, skin care and home, it’s the ultimate lifestyle travel blog!

What makes your blog unique?

It is a lifestyle blog like so many others, so I guess what makes SimplyWright unique is that don’t sugar coat my thoughts. If I’m having a bad day and I need help, I will ask for it. I don’t try and paint a picture of perfect when it’s not there. That’s not to say I don’t try and highlight the wonderful moments either… everyone likes pretty pictures. I push for honest and reality, even when it’s not the prettiest. I just hope there are others out there that can benefit from my candor.

Tell us about your blog in depth, including what you hope to accomplish through it.

My blog is my creative space. I try to think about other’s feelings when I write, however, as it is my outlet, I understand that some people might not always agree with my views. I share and talk about my struggles in parenting, my travels and living abroad, everyday recipes I use and crafts I create. I might have an issue in my life that I’d like feedback or advice on from my followers and bloggy friends. My main goal going into blogging was to build a creative place for me and to be a part of a community with like minded people.

Are you a Brand Ambassador and if so, for which companies?

I’ve just recently started a program with Booya Fitness, which I’m super excited about sharing my love for fitness and health more on my blog!

Beyond your blog, do you engage in other social media outlets such as Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, etc.?

I’m on Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Google+, Instagram.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to moms who may be interested in beginning a blog?

Go for it! But make sure you have the time set aside to put in the work. It takes a lot of dedication, effort, networking and research to run a successfulish blog.

Do you support – either formally or informally – a particular social cause?

Since 2003, I have supported local Autism groups through volunteering and fundraising. I’m also currently in the early stages of building my own non-profit organization/website, however, I’ve yet to release details on that.

When all is said and done, what is the one thing you hope your loved ones and those who knew you remember about you?

That I raised good children, stayed true to myself, and loved fully.

You can thank me later for being “right on the money” with this interview.  Better yet, thank Ashleigh by becoming a follower of SimplyWright.  You can’t go wrong with making such a good decision or the many time-saving tips she will continue to offer you beyond this summer and all year long.
