'Simply Stacie' Covers Everything From Monkey Bread To

Monkeying Around

Simply Stacie is that "go to" blog we all need when we find ourselves "short on time and quick fixes." This blog is the brain child of Canadian mom blogger Stacie Vaughan who, thru it, teaches us how to make monkey bread for our kids while offering suggestions on how to keep the "monkey business" in our bedrooms alive and well.  I kid you not.  Don't overlook the good advice, mind you, as this ex-military wife aint messin' around on either front.  No...she is not.

What she IS doing is masking "efficiency" with a 'mother's touch' in a way that will have you making Lemon Zest Soap one minute, then scrubbing behind your tyke's ears the next, with a very satisfied and loving smile resting comfortably on your face.  She is the "mom's" mom blogger, infusing 'extra special' care and attention in everything she posts.  That said, don't confuse the warm hand and simplicity Stacie Vaughan uses in the creation of Simply Stacie with anything but her own unique style, as Stacie is also a 'numbers' girl and savvy brand ambassador.  Equally strong in writing as she is in collecting eyeballs, Stacie Vaughan is what many mom bloggers hope to become...oneday.

If you are one of those mom bloggers (or even if you are not), I'd read her interview below.  It is full of interesting tidbits and fun facts worth knowing, whether you are trying to get rid of mosquitos or attract advertising partners -- two completely different strategies, mind you.

What is your full name?

Stacie Vaughan

Where do you live?

Pembroke, Ontario, Canada

How many children do you have?

Two

If you were asked to describe yourself in one word, what would that word be?

Organized

What is your personal mantra?

Work hard and be kind.

Tell us about you and your life.

I’m a mom of two girls, age 17 and 11, and also a full-time blogger. I’ve lived all over Canada and moved every 3 to 5 years with my husband’s job in the military. We are now settled in my hometown, where we intend to stay. It’s been fun having the opportunity to see the country, but I’m secretly happy that I can now put roots down and not have to move in a couple years! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking and baking, photography and spending time with my family.

Finish this sentence, “The best part about being a mom is _____.”

Unconditional love

How long have you been blogging for?  Do you blog for any group blogs or websites beyond your own?

I’ve been blogging for over 7 years. I started working with eBay in the last quarter of 2015, creating content for their eBay guides. Other than that, I write mainly for my own site.

What is the name of your blog?  When was it launched?

Simply Stacie. I started in December 2008.

Share with us the significance of the name of your blog to you.  How did you come up with it?

When I started my blog, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing or what I was going to write about. I came up with the name on a whim and ran with it. In a way, it’s good because it’s broad enough that I could make it about anything!

What is the primary focus of your blog?

Lifestyle with a focus on food.

What makes your blog unique?

I try to inject my own personality into each post I write. Since there is only one of me, I hope that helps to make it unique!

Tell us about your blog in depth, including what you hope to accomplish through it.

Simply Stacie is a lifestyle blog full of delicious recipes, easy crafts, household tips and other fun ideas to inspire readers to embrace an extraordinary life. I’m passionate about helping others and hope that my posts ignite that spark of creativity within others whether it’s preparing a home-cooked meal for their families, saving money on their grocery budgets or learning about a new product or service.

Are you a Brand Ambassador and if so, for which companies?

Yes, right now I’m working with the Chicken Farmers of Canada, Blue Dragon Canada & Patak’s Canada and Schick.

Beyond your blog, do you engage in other social media outlets such as Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, etc.?

Yes, my favorite is Pinterest! You can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to moms who may be interested in beginning a blog?

Don’t worry about the numbers right off the bat. Focus on creating the best possible content. Work hard and don’t give up! Blogging is a lot of fun, but it’s also a ton of work. Do it because you enjoy it and not to just make money.

Are you an entrepreneur or professional beyond your blog (and outside of being a mom)?  Please share.

Before I was a blogger, I was an accountant. Now, I work on my blog full-time.

Do you support – either formally or informally – a particular social cause?

I love to support any causes related to animals. I’m a huge pet lover and animals have a special place in my heart.

When all is said and done, what is the one thing you hope your loved ones and those who knew you remember about you?

I hope they remember me as a good person with a kind heart.

Simply put, Simply Stacie is simply delightful to visit on a regular basis, especially when you can't reach your own mother to find out how to sunscreen your kid without screaming (you or the child). We all know what that's like.  Summer's coming.  Put Simply Stacie on your summer reading list!
